While looking around at
Immigrant Solidarity.org I came across a publication that gives "Myths and Facts" about illegal aliens".
The Publication says it was put out by the National Council of La Raza, and is supposed to state "immigrant rights". In the publication, one of the "myths" is "Undocumented immigrants don't pay taxes". They say the truth is "Undocumented immigranst (their way of saying illegal aliens) pay taxes in a number of ways including income and sales tax. The majority of undocumented immigrants pay income taxes using Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) or
false Social Security numbers."
So, they admit that they break the law in more ways than just crossing the border. Hmm.
They also say "Myth: The best way to stop undocumented migration is by increasing enforcement." Of course, you know, first of all, that the people who are helping criminals are going to tell you the truth. They then say this is the "truth": "Between 1986 and 2002 the number of border enforcement agents has tripled, the number of hours they spent patrolling the border grew by a factor of approximately eight, and the Border Patrol’s budget has increased tenfold. At the same time, the number of undocumented
immigrants in the U.S. has continued to increase.6 Support is growing for a more comprehensive approach to immigration control which combines smart enforcement with measures to create a legal path for those who come to the U.S. to work, and those who are already in the workforce." There are several things wrong with that. While the border patrol has grown, they have not received new equipment, trucks or sufficient resources. They drive vehicles with over 100,000 miles on them and there is a Mexican consular available easily for the illegal aliens. It is a standing joke with the BP, that everything must be checked with the Mexican Consulate, before it is done.
What also doesn't help, is if when a BP agent tries to stop a drug smuggling, armed, illegal alien, he serves 20 years to life for doing it. I know I for one, would just be running to go stop the invading criminal. If they aren't serving time for enforcing our laws, they are most likely being sued for doing so. Another false fact is, support for guest worker programs is growing. The truth is, it is weakening. Even the liberal media admits that there is less and less support every day for amnesty and that the polls seems to coincide with that fact. Of course illegal aliens keep coming, our fence has more holes in it than Mel Gibson's apology and we do everything but tie the border patrols hands behind their back. I, personally, no longer care what happens to these illegal aliens, as long as they are out of my country. We aren't the United Nations or Amnesty Internation, we are the United States of America. We have our own flag, we are sovereign and we have laws. Laws that should and must be enforced. If the government won't enforce our laws, it appears the citizens will.
